Cash and Transactions (CAT) Model

Cash and Transactions-account CAT Model

CAT Model Overview

The CAT model serves as the entry point into the MaxQ ecosystem. This model provides setup for individual funds, cash accounts, trading activity and approved dealers for your institution. The CAT model provides simple trade and cash entry forms with a historical trade and cash blotter to track transactions. This model will also produce trade tickets for each transaction that can be signed and converted to PDF for easy submission to your custodian. The CAT model also provides entry sections for unique redemptions like mortgage prepayments, bond sinks or partial calls.

Cash Entry and Rate Assumptions

The CAT model cash entry system is a breeze to work with and can track the inflows, outflows and interest earnings for cash accounts across the board. Whether the account is an interest bearing money market instrument or simply an operations checking account, CAT can categorize and track activity to reconcile balances with account statements. CAT also provides a blotter for quick data export and a rates assumptions section that allows users to attribute earnings estimates to each account.

Trade Entry and Automated Setup

Possibly the best feature in this model comes from our trade entry section. In this section users are able to provide the system with basic buy/sell transaction information, such as purchase price, date and executing dealer. This information is transmitted to our MaxQ team and an automated check occurs to see if the security exists in our system. If it has not been registered, our team will build the security and process the transaction all within 30 minutes of entry*. This valuable feature ensures our users are never on the hook to build or create securities on their own.

*Security build times and transaction verifications can vary depending on work load and time of submission

Prepayment and Partial Call Activity

For our users that face the possibility of amortizing transactions such as mortgage-backed or asset-backed securities, CAT has an embedded prepayment activity section for users to provide prepayment activity as it happens. By directly processing this information, users bypass the traditional confirmation process and directly confirm the activity to our system. This section also allows users to initiate call submissions for lottery based partial calls or sink schedule events.
