PEAR Model Overview

The PEAR model is where monthly reporting becomes reality. PEAR is designed to import and record hundreds of variables and provide reporting on monthly activity and performance. PEAR provides a full review of portfolio-level earnings and returns along with security-level detail for earnings components on an accrual, cash or modified basis. PEAR also provides a compliance certification, cash-to-accrual reconciliation and a monthly review of cash activity, bond redemptions, bond purchases and interest received activity.

Portfolio Summary

Each month the PEAR model will produce a period earnings summary with an overview of current portfolio balances, monthly transactions and a portfolio composition breakdown. The summary contains customizable features that allow users to show specific data points they need such as gross or net period earnings, management expenses, budget targets, periodic or net book returns and fiscal YTD performance. The summary also embeds a compliance certification for institutions needing to report and sign a statement in conformance with their investment policy.

Portfolio Activity

Along with the Portfolio Summary, PEAR produces numerous other reports such as security redemptions and purchases, interest received from securities and cash vehicles, mutual fund activity and an average daily balance summary. PEAR also provides users with cash activity reports that show all inflow, outflow and interest received activity for each cash vehicle and the net total for each account.

Portfolio Earnings

Understanding the source of portfolio earnings is an important issue for our users so PEAR has a reporting set that allows our users to view security level details for accrued interest, amortization and accretion and gains and losses. Users can also see beginning and ending accrued interest, purchased interest adjustments and net cash payouts during the month. PEAR also includes a cash to accrual earnings reconciliation showing the conversion from cash basis to accrual basis in detail.
